Best Outdoor Activities in Your Guelph Neighbourhood
Loving where you live can mean many things. For many people it extends to spending time outdoors. For those who want to be close to trails and other outdoor areas in Guelph, I think this blog will be beneficial for your search. Keep reading to learn about the best outdoor activities in your Guelph neighbourhood!
Downtown Guelph
Though we can all appreciate our downtown with amazing restaurants, shops and pubs, it’s also just minutes away from the convergence of the Eramosa and Speed Rivers. The parks along the rivers give your family a great spot for a picnic and an afternoon paddle. The Boathouse is a great place to grab some ice cream and rent a canoe! Commuters can be minutes away from the GO station and minutes away from hiking and canoeing trails where it becomes easy to think you are in the country. How great is that?

South End
One of the amazing characteristics of Guelph is that each neighbourhood has a great outdoor space. The South End of Guelph has community trails, Preservation Park and is just minutes from Starkey Hill (one of my favourites!).
East End
The East End has so many creeks, ponds and trails that the local schools often incorporate community walks into their school day. How’s that for a hands-on science activity? Pollinator Park provides a safe and relaxing trail system that you can enjoy anytime, or while your kids are playing at the sports fields adjacent to the trails.
West End
The West End not only has Costco but also sports community trails and if you love biking and hiking, you would love the Niska Trail . Similar to other parts of this gorgeous city, the West End provides beautiful walking trails and parks. It’s also minutes away from accessing the famous Kissing Bridge Trailway . A family favourite of ours is biking through Mitchell Park where it’s easy to forget that you are in a city as you are surrounded by nature, trees and beautiful trails.
North End
The North End sports the GORBA Trails along the lake and you can take hiking trails from Guelph Lake directly into Riverside Park . I will say that as a father, it’s great to end a hike with a carousel ride and ice cream.

Though we have real estate opportunities within all of these great communities, realtors alike become excited when a builder brings together beautiful homes while incorporating the great outdoors. Local home builder, Dan Clayton has chosen the perfect area to build his “Hillside Towns”. This offers homebuyers a quintessential option for those who want an active outdoor lifestyle here in beautiful Guelph, Ontario.
At Hillside Towns , homeowners would be minutes away from some of the region’s best mountain biking trails in the GORBA Trail system. Even if you aren’t interested in testing your skills on a bike, just turn left on the Royal Recreation Trail . You will end up directly at Riverside Park with an ice cream in your hand and enjoying the carousel or our new and improved park. Once you’ve enjoyed Riverside Park to its fullest, grab your bathing suit and towel as you are only minutes away from the beach at Guelph Lake! Not only did Dan Clayton Homes think of everything you would need inside your home, but he’s placed you in an area that compliments those who want to live an active outdoor lifestyle! Thank you, Dan!
