Calling all local artists and photographers: your work could be featured on a Guelph Transit bus for an entire year.
Now in its seventh year, the Guelph Transit Art Contest began with a simple idea: everyday spaces can hold a little more joy. Instead of filling every available surface with another advertisement, we wanted to create a moving canvas that celebrates the creativity already thriving in our community.
Each year, the contest gives a local artist or photographer the chance to see their work travel throughout the city while introducing it to thousands of people along the way. It is one small way we can brighten a commute, spark a smile and give local creative talent the visibility it deserves.
How to Enter
Submit your artwork or photography by November 30, 2026, to [email protected] with the subject line Guelph Transit Art Contest 2026.
A completed consent form must be attached to your submission for the artwork to be considered.
Please also include all artist information so we can credit you properly, including:
- Your full name
- The name of the artwork or photograph
- Your social-media handles
- Your website, if applicable
- A short description of your connection to Guelph or Wellington County
Early Calendar Opportunity
Artwork and photography submitted by October 9, 2026, may also be considered for inclusion in an upcoming Andra Arnold and Associates calendar that reaches approximately 1,500 people. Calendar inclusion is not guaranteed, and the final deadline to enter the Guelph Transit Art Contest remains November 30, 2026.
Who Can Enter
Being a local artist is about connection, not only your current address. Whether you live here now, grew up here, studied here or have another meaningful connection to Guelph or Wellington County, we would love to see your work. Tell us about that connection when you submit.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for artwork or photography that will brighten someone's day and bring a little joy to the community. Keep in mind that the winning piece will be reproduced at a large scale and viewed while the bus is in motion, so bold, clear and visually engaging work is especially well suited to the format.
Community Voting
After submissions close, a group of finalists will be selected and shared on Instagram. Public voting will run from December 7 to December 14, 2026. Follow Andra Arnold and Associates on Instagram for the finalists and complete voting instructions.
The winning artwork or photography will be featured on a Guelph Transit bus from Spring 2027 through Spring 2028.
