Where Kids Eat Free in Guelph: The Family Cheap Eats & Budget Nights Out Guide

Where Kids Eat Free in Guelph: The Family Cheap Eats & Budget Nights Out Guide

The week at a glance

Every week in Guelph, somewhere a kid is eating free — you just have to know which night to show up. This guide gathers every confirmed kids-eat-free deal in the city, plus the weeknight specials that make a family dinner out actually affordable.

One rule before you load up the minivan: these deals require dine-in and usually one paying adult entrée per free kids' meal — and they change without notice, so we refresh this guide every month. A 30-second call ahead is always worth it.

The best cheap night for your family

Tuesday is the standout. East Side Mario's (25 Clair Rd E) gives kids 10 and under a free meal with any adult entrée over $19.99, and while you're there, sign up for the Mini Marios Club — it stacks five free kids' meals on top. Denny's on Woodlawn runs its kids-eat-free night the same evening from 4–10 p.m., so you've got Italian or all-day breakfast to choose from.

Wednesday splits between Swiss Chalet and Montana's. Swiss Chalet (both Guelph locations) does a free kids' meal with an adult entrée — dine-in only, and the promo currently runs to October 31, 2026. If ribs are more your family's speed, Montana's all-you-can-eat Wednesday is a legendary night out for big appetites, and the kids' menu runs from about $6.

Sunday is the family night in Guelph. Three spots run the same day: Symposium Cafe across from Stone Road Mall, Sunrise Breakfast on Woodlawn (kids 12 and under — the most generous age cut-off in town), and Denny's again from 4–10 p.m. Shoeless Joe's also does kids eat free on Sundays if you want the sports-bar energy with crayons.

Big family? Make it Mandarin. The all-you-can-eat buffet at 565 Woodlawn Rd W lets kids under 4 eat free and ages 5–12 eat half-price — up to two kids per paying adult. When the alternative is three separate kids' meals at menu prices, the buffet wins.

Breakfast and brunch count too

Angel's Diner downtown (23 Wellington St E, open from 6:30 a.m.) runs kids eat free Monday through Thursday — proper diner booths, the kind kids love. And Jack's Pancake Factory (257 Grange Rd) opened earlier this year with a 132-item breakfast menu and stacks of pancakes — no free deal yet, but a genuine family value for a weekend morning out.

Worth the full price

A few Guelph spots have no weekly deal but are built for families: East Side Mario's and Montana's both have solid kids' menus and crayons on hand, and State & Main downtown (16 Wyndham St N) is a relaxed family lunch spot with happy-hour apps. Sometimes the outing is the point — a menu price is fine when nobody has to ask "are we done yet?"

Three tips to make the deals work

  • Dine-in only, almost always. These promos rarely apply to takeout or delivery — the deal is designed to fill the dining room on quiet nights.

  • One free kid per adult entrée. Count your adults before you count your kids; most spots cap it at one-for-one.

  • Call ahead. Independent spots especially — promotions shift with the seasons. A two-minute call beats a disappointed four-year-old.

Deals verified August 22, 2026 from Cheap Eats Guelph, Active Parents, and restaurant promo pages. Guelph restaurants change specials often — we refresh this guide monthly, but always confirm before you go.
